1. A score is the music played in a film. The music is chosen specifically to fit the current mood or to create a mood.
2. Foley is sound affects that are created after filming to improve the quality of the sound. E.g. coconuts are used to recreate the sound of a galloping horse.
3. ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) is similar to Foley except it is used to improve the quality of dialogue. Some of the dialogue will be recreated after filming and is then synced to the moving picture.
4. The art of sound design is creating unique sounds that fit to a certain character or mood. E.g. Wall-E has his own unique sound.
